The Locust Valley Central School District Annual Professional Performance Plan (APPR)
In the summer of 2010, the New York State Legislature passed and the Governor signed into law Chapter 103 of the Laws of 2010, which added a new Section 3012-c to the Education Law of New York, making major changes in the requirements for teacher and principal evaluation. In accord with that law and subsequently promulgated regulations, the Locust Valley Central School District worked with the organizations representing our teachers and our principals to develop APPR plans. The law and regulations were changed several times by the State since their initial adoption. Our APPR plans, which were ready to implement a year ago, were modified as those legislative changes required, submitted to the Commissioner of Education and have been approved.
